  • Global Contexts for Leadership covers leadership styles in different global contexts. Students analyze the various issues and problems that impact the quality of life of individuals and groups in different global cultures and contexts.

  •  Leadership, Integrity, and Change is an experiential, practice-based leadership course where students apply leadership skills and concepts.

 Associate in Arts Program Transition Seminar

  • The Associate in Arts Program Transition Seminar is designed to support a successful transition of AAP students to the Newark (main) campus. In this course, students learn about on-campus resources, connect with fellow AAP students, and set goals for their junior and senior years.

  • Developed the syllabus and lesson plans for a seminar course for Associate in Arts Program graduates transitioning to the main campus. Submitted for permanent course status and approved for Fall 2019.

 Sophomore Seminar

  •  Sophomore Seminar gives students a better understanding of academic skills and interests so that they can develop a plan of action in selecting a major. It also helps students refine the academic skills necessary for success in junior and senior level courses. Students are connected with Newark (main) campus resources.

  • Successfully redesigned the course in Spring 2013 for Associate in Arts Program students transitioning to Newark (main) campus.

  • Revamped the curriculum in Spring 2019.  

Strategies for Academic Success

  • Strategies for Academic Success provides first semester students in the Associate in Arts Program with the social and academic skills for university success. Topics include UD resources, study skills, and major exploration.

  • Revised the curriculum for UNIV 116: Strategies for Academic Success to meet the new first-year seminar requirements. 

  • Provided training for advisors and adjunct instructors based upon the new requirements effective Fall 2017.

  • In Fall 2018, piloted the use of Peer Mentors to mentor first-year students and support instruction. Recruited students in Fall 2017 who received training in Spring 2018.
